'Surprise' OSAAT # 37

This week at OSSAT its Christmas ..... Be it traditional or modern... you decide

With 54 days to go... Now is an ideal time to make a start ,if you haven't already.

For this challenge i was sooo excited to be able to use Surprise by Stitchy. Surprise is available to buy here .
Can i add that those of you who know me will know that i really dislike mice. I could only colour House Mouse Stamps if they didnt have visable tails. !!! Its the tails you see. I can handle hamsters LOL. So you can imagine my shock and toe curling when i saw this image lol. He was coloured with a piece of card hiding his tail..............then i put the card over the mouse... Yes i am a tad strange.. ( But it worked and i managed to colour a mouse hehe) Can i also add i coloured him twice !!!!
Below are my 2 'surprise' cards. Well with the name of 'Surprise' and me colouring a mouse !! They fit together perfectly !!

Christmas Fairy

I must say that i absolutely adore a new stamp thats been created by the tallented Stitchy of Stitchy Stamps.

' Christmas Fairy is just soooooo gorgeous. I had to use her on my next project.

She is available to buy here . Not forgetting that if you spend $10 you get a fantastic freebie that has been put together by the creative team. Theres more info on the home page that tells you exactly whats included. But heres a little picture.

Now back to that GORGEOUS fairy :O) Heres a card that i made using the little stunner. I backed the image with pearlesent ivory card. Then onto a snowflake background. This was then mounted onto a scalloped card blank.
I coloured her using my promarkers then blinged up her wings with Stickles. Her hat has fluffy stuff on it. The gift has glossy accents. Then the whole image was edged with more bling :O)
(It must be a blingy day today lol)
The snowflakes were cut from the same ivory card, using a die that arrived a few days ago. The sentiment is from Craftwork cards.

Abit of a wobbly close up.

This week Stitchy is sponsoring Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge here . The theme is 'Winter Wonderland' So i would like to enter the challenge using my card.

Swishing

Well heres my first ever attempt at some kind of tutorial for the technique (lol) ive called swishing :O)

Below are the things that i use.
Plain card blank, ive done an ATC also.
Versacolor 5 colour ink pad
A baby wipe

Now ive found out that you have to work pretty quickly. So taking pics whilst i was doing this has made it abit patchy. But i do have a few examples of 'swishing' on my blog.
I try to start with the darkest colour and choose where i want that. On the example below i used the dark green then the red .
The babywipe being wet is the thing that helps. It smudges the ink. This one was abit dry with stopping to take a picture. With each time i added the new ink i used a new finger bit of the baby wipe. This helps the ink not to mix together and turn brown/ dirty looking

I then added the lighter green and the orange. I kind of decide which way i want the ink to lie and 'swish' it from side to side. Hense me saying this is swishing hehe ;O)

The middle of the card was filled with the yellow.
When i have the basic colours on the card i go over it all quickly with the lightest colour. There was another coat of yellow ink that went on over this but i didnt take a photograph.
This was a textured card that i used so its abit bumpy. But i hope it gives an idea of swishing :O)

I used green gems on the brown die cut strip.
The gorgeous Sparkles image by Stitchy was coloured with Promarkers, i added stickles and glossy accents. It was backed onto red card.
I finished my card with 3 red gems.

Stampin with the Dragon - You got ink

Over at Stampin with the Dragon the challenge this week is - You got ink . To use ink somewhere on your project.

Hmmm well ive never tried colouring using inks. So i decided that i would use another 'thingy' that i did for a recent ATC swap. I say thingy as im not sure if its even a technique LOL.. ( Ooooh i might of invented a new one LOL)

I have an ink pad thats 4 different colours but never quite know what to do with it !! So i took a baby wipe and the ink pad and swished it all over ;O) I like to call it ink swishing haha. It has the added joy that theres nothing to clean afterwards as you just throw the baby wipe away ;O) Now thats my kind of crafting.....

The image that ive used if from Stitchy Stamps and yes its my favorite 'Sparkles ' again ;O) This time shes wearing bright colours that matched the ink swished card blank. Sparkles is available to buy and shes so versitile and sooooo darling. I love her !! I mounted the image on some red card that i had left over from another project.

To finish my card off i added a few flowers and leaves in the same colours and a few pearls. Not forgetting abit of bling :O)

OSAAT Embellish it !! challenge 35

For this weeks challenge over at One Stitch At A Time Its Embellish it, with your favorite things

Sooooo i had to have a think about this one. Now it seems i love putting glitter and bling on my cards lol. So this one had to have that oon it somewhere. But i do love this time of year. It amazes me how the trees know when to change colour and shed their leaves. So my card had to reflect this somewhere.

For this challenge i was lucky to be able to work with a product from Toucan Scraps available here . Well as soon as i saw 'Amy kicking leaves' my card started to make itself :O)

I was lucky enough to have a few Autumn embellishments left over from another project i worked on and these were perfect for what i had in mind.

The backing paper i used is available to buy here . They also had the large leaves and metalic leaf brads.

Thanks for stopping by to see my favorite things. I cant wait to stop by your blogs to see yours

Card for a friend.

It has been ......one of those days today.
The more ive tried to do, the less has actually been done. Just as an example i was asked to print out a CV for a friend. 'Not a problem' i replied. LOL Famous last words !! 3 hours later i had nearly finished printing it. Ahhh right , i hear you say.... One of ....THOSE days LOL.

My son then reminded me that he needs a card tomorrow for a friend. Oops. So i set to work on a suitable card for a 16 year old that likes pink.

I knew i wanted to use one of my favorite stamps, Love is gone Its available here .
I used a bright pink card blank. The image was coloured with my Promarkers and given a dab of stickles here and there ;O) and a dob of glossy accents. I used my Promarkers to colour the card candy that i used for the center of my flowers and for the leaves around the flowers. When i added the flowers i wanted to make them look as if they were hugging the image. Just like she is hugging the rose. To carry on the effect that i wanted i added a few small gems just to carry on the hug :O)
I would like to enter my card in the Crafts and Me challenge #14. Something for a teenager.

WOW !!!

This week i was given the totally gorgeous Batty by Beary Dust Stamps available here . Now im not sure if you are supposed to say that halloween things are gorgeous. But this little bear is .. Simply Gorgeous !!

I made a box card for him to sit on the side of. Then popped a glittery witch flying against the moon.Inside the box. He had a dusting of stickles 'beary dust' on the edges of his wings and the inside was given abit of glossy accents just because..

This little batty was sooo cute that i made myself a badge using him. This time i cut him out 3 times and stuck him all together so he was nice and firm. Added a pin to his back. Gave him stickles'beary dust' on his wings then covered him with glossy accents so he was firm and protected. I cant wait to wear this little guy on halloween.

Then heres my 2 makes side by side

My project:

I had such fun with this challenge. With the time of the year i immediately thought i had to make a halloween card. A few days ago i had been to a new found shop. It has fabrics, ribbons and a few embellishments. Thats it !!. I was drawn to the shop by the fabric/ netting that i used on my card. It was placed in the window against a bright yellow background and looked simply stunning !! I will be visiting this store again, so i can see that fabrics might be featuring on my cards from time to time. Not bad for a woman who has a phobia of needles and cant even sew a button on LOL.

I chose to make an easle card for my project. I wanted to be able to show the beautiful web fabric. So i took a piece of black 6x6 card and added a section of silver Miri card, then popped the netting over the top. The base of my easle card was made from a strip of 6x12 black card. I stamped Happy Halloween and matted it with Miri card and then onto the card base. I also added a stamped witch on a broomstick. The spiders were stamped directly onto the base card after it was all put together.

Stamps i used were MME Haunted stamps and are available to buy at CCW here

I had to use my little Magnolia 'Witch' stamp as i really love this stamp and dont use it as often as i would like. Shes just sooo gorgeous.

Heres my finished card taken outside in natural light

Then again inside

Things i learnt with this project :

1. Miri card is gorgeous. But , a nightmare to photograph !! If anyone has any tips. I would LOVE to know them LOL.

2. Children will laugh when they see their mum wrapped inside a red fleece blanket, attempting to photograph a card. It doesnt matter if they are 11 or 20. Its still really funny lol.

Thankyou for stopping by to see my project.

I cant wait to come to your blogs to see your challenge projects for Lou's Black, Silver and white theme.
