MSE challenge by Flourgirl

Over at MSE Flourgirl set a sketch challenge for us to work with

Heres my take on the sketch... Hope its ok without its greeting ? Looked too squashy ;O)

A great fun sketch to work with Flourgirl xxx

Card holder and extra and a sad end to the countdown

Well if you have been following the Christmas Countdown on Creative Craft World . You will know that today is the last day :O( Its so sad, as its been fantastic fun for us as DT members. Hope you have enjoyed it too ?

Here's my final project for you... A gift of 6 cards held together inside a storage box.
Whilst i was browsing the web i can across a similar gift at Splitcoast stampers. So decided to have a go and see what i could come up with.

Its actually quite easy to make and put together ( I thought it would be hard, but it wasnt ;O) )

Heres the finished box that i made.

What you will need :

1 6 x 12 cardstock to make front/base and back of box
1 4 x 6 cardstock to make the lid
2 3 3/4 x 4 cardstock for the sides
2 3 7/8 x 5 1/2 white cardstock to form dividers inside the box
Magnetic closures or i used magnetic tape. Ribbon and embellishments to decorate

What to do :

1. Take the 6 x 12 and score at 4 1/2, 6 1/2 and 11
2. Take the 4 x 6 and score on the 4'' side at 2
3. For the sides you need to score at every 1/2'' along the 4'' side.

4.Atatch the lid to the box at the 1'' scored bit.
5. On the other side of the lid flap you can use a decorative punch or leave it blank, your choice :O)
6. You can now place ribbon around the join to finish it off nicely or wait until you have added the sides to make it abit easier.

7. Atatch the (fan) folded sides to the front and back of the box on both sides.

8. You can then add the white card to the inside of the box. This is abit fiddly.. I used DST on one side of the card then stuck it in place on a fold. It made it abit scoowhiff. But, i thought it would be the easiest way to atatch it ;O)

9. You can then decorate it as you wish.

I wanted a christmas feel to my giftbox. Im making a little address book that will go with it so it can be used year after year with everything in one place ;O) A box version of a christmas planner ;O)

Heres the cards that i made to go inside the box. 2 x Thankyou. 2 x Birthday and 2 x Blank ones

Heres the inside of the box.

A little extra :

To grow a Candy Cane.

Whilst looking on the web. I found another fantastic gift idea that i am going to make. Its another fun, cheap and yet effective idea. To grow a Candy Cane !!

Details can be found at handmade.heartfelted

Nothing .....

Its my turn again over at Creative Craft Worlds, Christmas Countdown

Today ive made you 'nothing' !!! Well it does seem popular with all the men at Christmas ( It does in my family anyway lol ) .
I made a few of these last year and everyone thought they were really funny, so i thought i would share on here with you all.

This is a really easy to make gift again.

Take a washed empty jar, any size will do.
Use brown paper or fabric over the lid and tie in place with ribbon.
Make a tag and attatch .......... Gift made

On my tags i write or print a little verse

Did you say nothing ?
When you were asked what you wanted for Christmas.
Dont you remember saying Nothing ?
Well this time someone heard you.
I searched high and low to find the perfect gift for you.
A jar of nothing !!

To make my label i used my nesties and labels 1. I also used my cropadile.
But you could quite as easily make a tag using a large gift tag or even a sticker attatched to the jar itself.

Go on make someone smile by giving them that perfect gift :O)

Remember
Anyone who makes one of my gift ideas and links it to my blog post will be entered into a draw to win a little Christmas gift from me :O)

OSAAT Season or Event

This week over at One Stitch At A Time. Its challenge #40 and that means its time to pick a season or event. So that could be a winter or even summer card if your wanting to make yourself feel warmer :O)

This challenge is sponsored by Joanna Sheen and some lucky player will win a £10 voucher to spend in store :O)

I have opted to make a New Years Eve Party Invite for this challenge. I was super lucky to be asked to work with a Trees Award digi this week. So as soon as i saw Party Animals. I knew it had to be the one. You can buy Party Animals here

Firstly can i appologise for my photograph this week.
I decided to cover all the white card with cosmic shimmer powder in corresponding colours to the 'party animals' Then a yellow to make the candle light flicker on the animals.... Well its made it virtually impossible to photograph !!
I of course added abit of bling.. Well its New Years Eve.. Time to celebrate..

Below is the inside of the invite. I did leave the details blank though. Because as much as i love all my followers , my house isnt that large hehe ;O)

Yes i have another card to show you this week too :O)

This image is by Robyn's Fetish and as soon as i saw it i had to make a card with it !! You can buy Santas Workshop here

I added glossy accents to the windows after colouring them with cool grey 1 ( Promarkers) Then added stickles to the trees and then a few red and clear gems.
I did love making this card. I think it looks abit like a sweet shop or a choccy shop as Liz said ;O)

Looking at both my card i must still be feeling in a Winter mood. I do love Winter though, when i am snug and warm inside. Mug of hot choccy, Christmas tree lights twinkling whilst i wrap gifts or colour a few images :O)

So what season or event are you going to be ? I cant wait to stop by the other DT members blogs to see their creations and of course popping along to see your creations also :O)

I whisk you a merry Christmas and an extra

Its my turn again at Creative Craft World Christmas Countdown

With 39 sleeps left to go....... Is anyone else panicking ?? .......I am LOL.

For my project todays i have another Thrifty but gifty offering for you..

'Whisking you a Merry Christmas'

This little gift idea would be a great little stocking filler for that cook in your life. Or maybe as a thankyou for cooking christmas dinner. It would even be good in a food or baking hamper

All you need is :

A whisk (I bought this for 63p from asda)
A cellophane bag
Something to put into the bag ( I used a bag of chocolate coins) for 99p bogof
Some card to make a tag.
Abit of ribbon

But the goodies inside the cellophane bag and put it inside the balloon bit of the whisk.
Make your tag and attatch with a ribbon.
For my tag i used my nesties scalloped circles and a snowflake die.

Todays' extra
Beer Mat Calendars
Heres what you need :

A sheet of cut mounting board or 'liberated', Beer mat/coaster from your local pub ;O)
Designer paper for the front and back of your coaster
A calendar tab ( I used Anitas which are 10 for 99p )
Magnetic tape or sheet to cut and attatch to the back then it can go onto the fridge.
Abit of decoration, I used a snowflake and some gems.
What to do :
Attatch the paper to the back and the front of the coaster ( I use DST)
This will leave you with an uncoloured part that i just colour over with a promarker.
Attatch your calendar tab, again using DST
Decorate the front of your calendar
I use about 1-2 inches of magnetic tape on the back of my calendars so you can use them on the fridge.
Remember :
If you make any of my gift ideas. Please remember to link back to my blog, so i can see what you have made. After the CCW countdown i will do a draw and the winner will receive a little Christmas gift from me.

OSAAT - Favorite colours and a gorgeous new image

At One Stitch At A Time this week for challenge 39. Its use your favorite colours.

The sponsor is : Robyn at Outlaw Women Scrapbook Emporium with a $10 voucher to spend in her new store. You can find it here

I was lucky enough to use Beary Dust this week and so opted for one of the new stamps GI Jane. available here

If you hurry to the store this little beauty is on sale at the minute with 50 % off !!!

She does have such a GORGEOUS face. It was a treat to colour her and she has looked amazing
in all the colourways that i have tried her in.

To make my card i used a craftwork cards scalloped card blank and then mounted the gorgeous GI Jane onto Silver Mirri card and then Red Bazzil card stock.. I distressed the edges of the Bazzil cardstock.
The butterflies were sent to me by CT1972 ( Thanks Caroline :O) ) I covered the butterflies with Icicle stickles then added a few red gems to the 'body'.
GI Jane was coloured using Promarkers and then i added stickles to her top just to bring her to life alittle. Ive even added a tiny bit of glossy accents to her red nails ;O)
No sentiment has been added as yet as ive not decided who this card is for . I think since its y favorite colours and i do adore the image. It may have to be for me ;O)

Well thankyou for stopping by my blog today. I cant wait to come by and see everyones favorite colours and stunning work.

Snowman Soup

I usually make Snowman Soup in a cone. But for some reason this year i have struggled getting hold of some. So this year ive had to adapt the idea. I do think it actually works quite well.

With the cone the Hot Chocolate and Marshmallows sometimes mixes up together. To make it up you have to remove the marshmallows, So it can get abit messy. So this is a sparkly clean version ;O)

I usually attatch a label to the top with a rhyme on. But doing it this way meant that i had the back of the card to stick an image on and add the rhyme.

The rhyme reads :

Was told that you've been good this year.
Always glad to hear it !
With freezing weather drawing near,
You'll need to warm your spirit.

So heres a little snowman soup,
Complete with stirring stick.
Add hot water, sip it slow.
Its sure to do the trick.

Variations:

You could always add a minature bottle of alcohol, say brandy or whisky to really make it warming ;O) Well more like a lamumba.
or
Top with chocolate chips or buttons for an added Choccy boost !
.
Todays extra.
.
Yes i know ......... more chocolate ;O) They dont call me choccy for nothing you know ;O) lol
.
Well ive seen some beautiful versions of these. This is the first year that i have made them myself. So heres my little decorated chocolates.
.
Ive decorated them using Pine Boughs which was from here. But you can use and card stock that you have. The scalloped circle measures 1 1/2 inches. I used the smalled one in my set of nesties
The white card circle is again from my circle nestie
The alphabet is from my quickcutz squeeze. But you could use rub ons, a pen, a sticker or anything else that you choose.
The Elizabeth Shaw mints that i used here are chocolate orange ones ;O) yummmmmy !!
You sandwich the mint between 2 x scalloped circle cards and decorate one side. I find it easier if i decorate 1 side before i fit them together.
I use DST to attatch the mint to the card stock.
Once decorated they can be put into a pretzel bag.
You can put any name onto the mints to personalise them. Making them a great little gift.
You can also add ribbon to the back card. Make a loop and put it inside the mint/card sandwich before you stick it down. This way they hang on the tree ( Thanks CT1972 for mine :O) )
or you can make them up and scatter them on the dinner table. For little table decorations.
Dont forget :
If you make any of the little gifts that ive shown here. Please send a link to me via the comments box. Everyone who makes one of my 'gifts' will be entered into a draw to win a little gift from me.

The perfect man

Ladies........... Ive done it !!!

Ive finally found 'The perfect man' !!

I made a few of these last year as little jokes for my female friends. They all thought it was a great giggle.

So without wasting anymore time.... I would like to introduce you to, The perfect man.

Last year i hand wrote the labels. But this year i managed to find a stamp with the wording on.

So i just made my labels using Holly Jolly by MME available to buy here and Nesties labels 4.

The verse reads:

A little sugar,alot of spice.
A woman shaped him oh so nice.
Hes made of dough, with a golden tan.
The closest thing to a perfect man !

or you could use

Hes quiet and hes sweet
And if he gives you any trouble
You can bite his head off..........

These are really easy to put together.
You just need a gingerbread man, cello bag and card to make your label.

OSAAT challenge 38

This week at OSAAT for challenge #38 its a Winter Wonderland

This challenge is sponsored by the brilliant Di's Digitals and the winner of this challenge can be the proud owner of five images from her collection of digi stamps.

This week i was given Di's Digi named 'Snuggle up' to work with.
Its such a fabby image, i really enjoyed making my card this week.

The backing paper was taken from DCWV Winter Mat stack. It has snowflakes on it so gives the appearance that the bear is walking amongst snowflakes,in the Winter Wonderland.
The image was coloured using promarkers then finished off with Stickles and glossy accents.
I used white organza ribbon then added abit of 'bling'
The let it snow sentiment was by Craftwork cards.

I cant wait to see everyones interpretation of Winter Wonderland. I know theres going to be some beautiful enteries.

Its all .....poop

Now a few people have joked about my first gift idea.... Yes you read correct its poop....

For my first day on CCW Christmas Countdown
I wanted to share an idea that ive been sharing with friends and family for a couple of years. Its soooo simple to make . You dont really need any special equipment apart from a food bag or maybe even a card cello bag or the smaller ones i made up are ATC cello bags. Card for the topper. I used MME Holly Jolly, Reindeer fly and Candy canes available here

You will need :

A cello bag
Card for your topper
Poop

To make my labels i used a nestie ( labels 1 and labels 8) But you can measure the width of your bag and make a square or shaped topper to fit your cello bag .

To Make:

Pop the poop into the cello bag.
Stick the topper (folded in half) to the back of the bag. Some i stapled and some were stuck with DST.
Fold your topper over and stick the front with DST
Decorate, as you wish

Theres a few poems that you can choose, if you wish. I found them online so not sure who the author was . You can either hand write or print out or even leave it off all together, your choice

1. Can be used for either Snowman/ Reindeer or Penguin Poop

I hear that you've been naughty.
So listen heres the scoop.
I'm running short of coal this year,
So you get Snowman Poop

or

2. For Reindeer poop

I woke up with such a scare, when i heard Santa call.
'Now dash away, dash away, dash away all'.
I ran to the lawn and in the snowy white drifts.
Those nasty little reindeer ,had left little gifts.

I got an old shovel and started to scoop
Neat little piles of 'Reindeer Poop'.
But to throw them away seemed such a waste.
So i saved them thinking, you might like a taste.

As i finished my task, which took quite a while.
Old Santa passed by and he sheepishly smiled.
And i heard him exclaim,as he rose to the sky.
'Well they're not potty trained but at least they can fly.'

Below are an example of some poop i have made this year:

Reindeer poop is using Maltesers and paynes mint poppets.
Snowman poop is using Mini Marshmallows and mint imperials

I hope youve enjoyed my little thrifty gift idea.

Dont forget to link back to CCW and leave a comment on my blog also ( with the link to your post) with any errr 'poop' that you make.

At the end of CCW Christmas Countdown.
I will be adding names to a draw to win a small prize, So if you make one of my gift ideas dont forget to leave a comment. The gift shall arrive with you in time for Christmas.
