Old Skool blog hop number 2

Welcome to the second 'Old Skool' blog hop. If you are following the blog hop you would of arrived here from the VERY tallented Jackys' blog.

Right now again, you will have to excuse my 'Old Skool' stuff not being really 'Old Skool'. Being a scrapbook want to be-er and a card thrower oner for only 10 months my much loved precious stash isnt very old. Its all very strokable though :O)

I am actually proud of myself again... I managed to take a sheet of 'Once Upon a Time' by DCWV and cut it !!!! Yes it was only from my mat stack, but even the same Once upon a time is Once upon a time :O) The flowered card is my much loved paper. The navy blue shimmer card and roses were bought when i was playing around, attempting to make our wedding invitations. So they must be 5 years old. Ribbon, Butterfly charm and sentiment were from my stash and the gems were from the first 'pull a name out the hat' prize i won on MSE :O)

Mothers Day Challenge

Heres my Mothers Day entry

My card was backed with a maroon and off white spot paper. I then cut a ribbon threader ( Nellie Snedden) and threaded it with a maroon ribbon from my stash. The flowers were put together with flowers from my stash and card candy. I inked the edge of the Happy Mothers Day stamped image,to make it stand out a little.

Heres hoping that all Mums,have a Happy day xx

Basic Grey Challenge week 14

The Basic Grey Challenge this week was a colour combo one.

Maroon, Lemon and Pink. I thought it was a different combo to any i have ever tried. So set about creating a card that fitted the guides.

I used Basic Grey papers for the 2 backing papers

E-line flowers ( neutral) coloured with promarkers, as were the card candy.

Ribbon was from my stash

Sentiment was from Daisy and Dandelion.

Cards for men - Green

Now its no secret that i really dont like making cards for men. Being a mum to 3 boys i decided that i had better push myself to try harder with my mens cards. Afterall little boys grow into big men ( My eldest is 19 lol). So not long to go..

Cards for men Challenge blog seems a must if i am going to be inspired to make my little men cards in the future.

The theme for this challenge was 'green'

This card is covered in a green Bazzil Basics card which i embossed with my stars folder and cuttlebug. The image was sent to me by Rainmac just this morning. Thanks Rainmac xx..The paint has been blobbed with glossy accents to make it shimmer.

ATC swap 'Bling'

This is the ATC and matching card that i made for Rainmac in this months swap on CP.

The theme that was set by Gemm85 was 'bling'

I used a white and silver glitter paper.

Flower was an e line white flower that i coloured with a Metallic Gold Promarker.The centre was from Craftwork cards (card candy)

Crystal gems were a prize that i won off Dragonllew.

Forever Friends Challenge 'Hearts'

Yes its after Valentines day. But i just had to join in on the Forever Friends ' Hearts' challenge.

The backing paper is from Basic Grey 'Sugar Rush'

The embossed square with hearts is a new quickutz die that i bought.

Forever friends bear, sentiment, heart and bling are all FF elements kit, That i had bought but couldnt just put away until next year

Birthday Cards

This week it has been two of the MSE card making ladies birthdays. Heres the cards i made to send them.


This one was for Jennie ( The-Wife).
The stamped image came from Craftygranny,i think. The rafia lace was originally natural,but i have found that you can colour it with Promarkers. The pewter half pearls are from Quixotic Paperie. The sentiment is from, Forever Friends Pink Parfait collection. I couldnt find a suitable cake image for wifey, who does love cakes.


This card was for Caroline ( CT1972).
It was stamped with Daisy that i bought off Rusty. The backing paper is MME Pretty please,spring papers. The white e-line flowers were coloured with Promarkers,to match her headband.Half Pearls were from Quixotic Paperie and the sentiment was from Forever Friends again.

I hope both the ladies had a fantastic birthday xx

Valentines

Well what a plonker i am ? I made this card for a challenge and now i just cant remember which challenge hehe. I thought i should 'blog' it anyway then try to find the challenge.. Insert very red face here !) I do actually blame my medication on this occasion, it seems to of made me abit of a puddle head over the last few days.

Heres Bens pizza and pizza box that they made on todays cookery trip to the local comprehensive. :o)

Hmmm Pineapple and sweetcorn. Apparently this pizza counts as 3 of your 5 aday ! The tomato sauce has blended carrot in it also

'Old skool stash scrap' Blog hop

I decided to join in with the 'old skool stash scrap'

Now Jammy from Liberty Cottage challenged us to use our old stash,to make a card of scrapbook page. Old skool meaning that we had for over 2 years. Being fairly new to card making ( April 09 ) and a complete none starter with my Scrapbooking this stumped me abit. Another criteria was that we could use those special papers we bought, then loved too much to use. **Bingo ** This bit i could manage.

Back in February 09 i had bought a full set of Once Upon a Time by DCWV. This included 12x12 papers, 6x4 mat stack, chipboard sticker stack and ribbons. I often looked at this beautiful range, admired its beauty, then popped it back in my storage container. I just knew that it may break my heart to cut it up.





Well here it is my Once Upon a Time card.
I used the text page from the much loved stash and i even managed to pop out one of the chipboard stickers and use that also.

Thats my tale of my old skool stash. As you are following a trail theres other ladies who want to share with you their stories of much stroked papers and stash saved up from when Tony Blair was in number 10 Downing Street.
