My project:
I had such fun with this challenge. With the time of the year i immediately thought i had to make a halloween card. A few days ago i had been to a new found shop. It has fabrics, ribbons and a few embellishments. Thats it !!. I was drawn to the shop by the fabric/ netting that i used on my card. It was placed in the window against a bright yellow background and looked simply stunning !! I will be visiting this store again, so i can see that fabrics might be featuring on my cards from time to time. Not bad for a woman who has a phobia of needles and cant even sew a button on LOL.
I chose to make an easle card for my project. I wanted to be able to show the beautiful web fabric. So i took a piece of black 6x6 card and added a section of silver Miri card, then popped the netting over the top. The base of my easle card was made from a strip of 6x12 black card. I stamped Happy Halloween and matted it with Miri card and then onto the card base. I also added a stamped witch on a broomstick. The spiders were stamped directly onto the base card after it was all put together.
Stamps i used were MME Haunted stamps and are available to buy at CCW here
I had to use my little Magnolia 'Witch' stamp as i really love this stamp and dont use it as often as i would like. Shes just sooo gorgeous.
Heres my finished card taken outside in natural light
Then again inside
Things i learnt with this project :
1. Miri card is gorgeous. But , a nightmare to photograph !! If anyone has any tips. I would LOVE to know them LOL.
2. Children will laugh when they see their mum wrapped inside a red fleece blanket, attempting to photograph a card. It doesnt matter if they are 11 or 20. Its still really funny lol.
Thankyou for stopping by to see my project.
I cant wait to come to your blogs to see your challenge projects for Lou's Black, Silver and white theme.
